When you do, a quick jerk of the manual inflation handle activates the replaceable 16gram CO2 cylinder, deploying the inflatable chamber to the minimum required buoyancy to comfortably float the user in a safe position. Buoyancy can then be adjusted higher or lower using the oral inflate/deflate tube conveniently positioned on inflatable chamber. In non-emergency situations, the oral inflation feature can be used instead of manual inflator, saving your CO2 cylinder for subsequent use.
